This is a joint submission with Medical Justice to the ICCPR's upcoming periodic review of the United Kingdom.

It details our concerns about the current situation in immigration detention and combines both organisation's casework experience, as well as recent judgements, research, monitoring bodies' report and the Brook House Inquiry's findings.

Since the last period review, there have been a number of harmful legislative and policy changes to detention and removal. Such changes have put the UK on a direct collision course with the European Court of Human Rights.
