Casework volunteering opportunities:

We recruit volunteers on a rolling basis, with applications considered as casework positions become available.

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with BID. We accept applications for legal casework volunteers on a rolling basis. Due to the volume of applications received, we are unable to offer an interview to every candidate, and preference will be given to those who:

1. Have legal experience; AND/OR  

2. Have experience working with vulnerable individuals or migrant communities; AND/OR 

3. Have direct or indirect personal experience of immigration detention or deportation. 

Please only apply if you can offer at least two days per week between Monday and Thursday for a period of six months; OR four days per week, Monday to Thursday, for a period of at least six weeks. 

If you are starting a course in the near future, please do not apply until you have received your timetable and you are confident that you are able to commit the minimum time required to volunteering with BID.

This is an in-person role and cannot be remote. Our working hours are promptly at 10am until 5pm.

Fundraising & Communications Volunteers:

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on practical experience in fundraising and communications at a leading charity challenging the injustice of immigration detention in the UK.

We accept applications on a rolling basis. Due to the volume of applications received and our limited capacity, we are unable to respond to or offer an interview to every candidate. Preference will be given to those who:

1. Have experience in fundraising and/or communications; AND/OR  

2. Have direct or indirect personal experience of immigration detention, deportation or other aspects of the UK's hostile immigration policy. 

Please only apply if you can offer at least one day per week between Monday and Wednesday for a period of six months; OR three days per week, Monday to Wednesday, for at least six weeks.
