People detained in prison face structural racism, stigmatisation as a ‘foreign national offenders’, poor access to justice, restricted communications & the routine use of prolonged confinement to a cell.

Our latest research Catch 2022: Accessing Immigration Legal Advice from Prison found 89% of those interviewed had had difficulty accessing legal advice & that 74% were confined to a cell more than 22 hours a day.

BID believes no one should be detained under immigration powers and that this inhumane practice must be abolished - but we need your help.

We have put together the resources below to help raise awareness and to mobilise support for ending detention in prison.

From sharing our research and film to donating or writing to your MP, there are plenty of ways you can add your voice to our campaign.
