BAIL NOTEBOOKS FOR DETAINEES

NEW An updated version of BID's Notebook on bail, explaining how to apply for release from detention, was published in October 2009 - download it in English. The 2008 edition of this Notebook is available for download in French, Arabic, or Farsi.

Hard copies can be sent free of charge to any detention centre or prison. Copies of the Notebooks are due to be translated into more languages in the future.

USEFUL FORMS

To apply for bail, you will have to fill in a B1 Form: 'B1 - Application to be Released on Bail'.

To apply for bail, you will also need an address. You can apply for accommodation by filling in a Section 4 form and using UKBA's guidance notes
