Information for Detainees

How to get out of detention

If you are being held in immigration detention, you can apply to a court to be released on bail back into the community.  All immigration detainees have the right to apply for bail if they have been in the UK for at least 7 days.

The webpages below explain how you can apply for bail yourself, if you have no lawyer. Click on the link 'useful forms and BID's self-help guide to bail' to download the application forms you will need to fill in.

You can call BID's helpline from Monday to Thursday between 10am and 12 midday on 020 7456 9750.
