BID publishes a new bulletin 'The right to legal aid for bail applications'
BID has today publishes a new bulletin 'The right to legal aid for bail applications' intended for individuals and organisations who support migrants and asylum seekers in detention.
This bulletin will help supporters to understand detainees' rights relating to legal aid when applying for bail, and the legal aid 'merits test' as it applies to bail cases. It also explains the right to appeal against a decision by a legal advisor to refuse to grant legal aid for a bail application (known as a CW4 appeal).
